AfterSound released his first single ‘Find a Way’, working with producer Sureknock Jones to combine guitars and strings with heavy electronics to create an energetic anthem. The song was included on the self-titled EP, which also includes ‘Stand Tall’ – a collaboration with the United Nations that helped raise money for their refugee relief efforts.
In 2018, AfterSound returned with the release of ‘Seasons’, a summertime track that caught the ear of playlist curators at Spotify and was added to Fresh Finds and Listen Local: Chicago. AfterSound’s also remixed Jenesia’s ‘Mexico’ which has been featured on Spotify’s Creamy playlist.
Benin City are often described as ‘genre-defying’, ‘a fusion of sounds’, and ‘unmistakenly London’. The make-up of the band reflects this as well, as does the abundant diversity of London itself: races, nationalities, sexualities and genders. In these political times the idea of identity has been pushed to the fore. The band’s third album campaign, beginning with the release of the What A Time EP this winter via Moshi Moshi, is their chance to celebrate their differences and interrogate the problems and challenges within us and our society, conveyed with a strict adherence to Dance-Pop.
Winning rave reviews across UK press and radio, the band have been exciting crowds across the country and Europe this past 18 months, notably touring with Portugal. The Man, and appearing at Latitude, The Great Escape, All Points East, SXSW, and Iceland Airwaves festivals amongst others.
Upon hearing the song, Radio 1 Rock Show host Daniel P Carter made it his ‘Rockest Record’ and labelled the band as ‘the best new band in Britain.’
At this point Big Spring hadn’t played a live show, so they spent the first half of 2016 working on their live performance and writing more material. They then recruited guitarist Jack Rowan, completing the line up as a four piece.
After releasing their second single ‘On a Bamboo Sleeping Mat’, the band were invited to play at Reading & Leeds festival for only their fifth and sixth ever live performances.
This was followed by tours with Black Foxxes, Decade, The Xcerts and Turbowolf alongside various single releases.
The band announced at the start of 2018 that they were recording their debut EP which would be released mid 2018.

Pigeons & Planes • “A hypnotic listen that feels a modern outgrowth of hip-hop’s early fixations with jazz…”
UPROXX • “Distinct style of hip-hop that blends aspects of electronica and turn of the millennium rap aesthetics into something that is easily digestible.”
RedEye • "Nimble, electronic-fueled rap that flows so quickly from challenging to clever you might miss the switch."
Chicago Reader • “The flair for piecing together unusual sounds and shifting their flows with a natural precision reminds me of the great eccentric hip-hop I've long associated with California label Anticon.”
It is undoubtedly for DJing that Devaney is best known. She was initially obsessed with hardcore, jungle and drum & bass, & was taught to DJ by some of Britain’s most iconic DJs, inc Fabio and Randall.
Devaney’s DJ career has flourished since she made her club debut in 2009, notching up headline sets in such far-flung places such as Croatia, Qatar, Thailand, Turkey, India, Italy, Bali and Barbados. Her success is due to her innate ability to read a crowd and rock a party with an eclectic, bass-heavy mixture of music. As well as possessing tight technical skills & inspired track selection, Devaney is also renowned for delivering lively and passionate performances where she takes to the mic to host & spit rhymes.
Devaney has collaborated with an impressive list of artists, including Rich The Kid , Riff Raff, Lil Debbie , LadyLeshurr , Bali Baby , Ms Banks , Fatman Scoop , Ragga Twins, Tanya Lacey, MC Neat, and the legendary Snoop Dogg. Her cut with the latter, 2016’s “Flip It”, became a crossover smash worldwide, eventually being awarded Platinum status by ARIA.
New single ‘Forever For Now’ has achieved rapid success and has over 150,000 Spotify streams within weeks of the video release. Dylan Bernard was bit by the music bug at an early age. When his mother placed him in a church choir at the age of four, he instantly fell in love. Sadly, he lost his mother a few years later and the musical spirit she instilled in him went dormant.
That ^ is arguably the best way of explaining what he does in a short sentence. Thing is, Dike doesn't really do labels or pigeonholes and a short conversation with him would certainly be enough to make that crystal clear.
Just ask any musician he has ever shared a studio or stage with. Sure, a banger is a banger, it comes out of the speakers nice, but, wouldn't it be better with a skewed sample of Daphne And Celeste whooping every four bars? Probably. Wouldn't it also be better if the verse were delivered atop a speaker stack, fabulous shirt swinging in time with the strobe lights?
It probably would you know...
Dirty Dike is obsessed with a handful of things. These things are instrumental in shaping his everyday and contribute significantly to the music he makes.
He is obsessed with discovery, and adventure, and debate, and late nights either immersed in derelict bliss or surrounded by glitching and bleeping synthesisers in his studio. He is obsessed with railway lines, and painting, and taking pictures, but most significantly, he is obsessive in his pursuit of writing, recording and producing music that extends beyond the limits of the aforementioned single sentence up ^ there and, put simply, this is why he doesn't sound much like anyone else.
The best part about it all is that his efforts have captured the hearts and minds of fans across the world and he is both humbled and thankful for the support.
It seems people hear something in Dike's psychedelic voice that they can truly associate with. Whether it's the joy, the suffering, or something in-between. One thing is certain, Dirty Dike's derivé shows no signs of slowing anytime soon.
Dike’s fifth solo album ‘Acrylic Snail’ is on the way.
A 14-track homage to the industrial estates and railway lines that raised him; an experiential body of work documenting the feeling of those times. Of growing up in raves. And the tumultuous and unforgiving journey out of them.

Following their first three singles - Wildflower, Temporary, and Glow - the collective went straight for the jugular on their highly successful EP, Empires, leading them to have over a million streams in the first three months, be featured as Apple Music’s New Artist Spotlight of the Month, placement on several Spotify Official playlists including New Music Friday, and have radio play on BBC Introducing for the singles Wildflower and Temporary (Acoustic). After fierce competition from thirteen different record labels, the collective signed a recording deal in early 2019 with the New York City-based Ultra Music.
With multiple sold-out shows and unforgettable lyrics, dutchkid have created an uplifting and addictive sound that continues to grow and attract more followers who are finding this immensely talented collective’s music satisfying from start to finish.
The LP settles on the notion that all human beings are on the hunt for the same thing.
A key player in the UK rap renaissance, renowned live performer, wordsmith and storyteller, Scissor’s artistic evolution correlates strongly with the work of Glasgow- based producer Lamplighter. As a duo, they have developed into key players in the alt-rap soundscape ever since their debut ‘Better.Luck.Next.Life’ dropped to critical acclaim back in 2012.
Fast forward six years and their nu-classical compositions are wiser and more profound than ever before. The camaraderie grows more expansive and ear-opening with every song; striking nods to love songs from the 60’s, 80’s power ballads, the seedy end of the 90’s R’n’B spectrum, to psych-indie anthems, rave anthems, electronica and drone, but moreover, countless nods to moving image, spoken word, soundtracks and scores; the music is rich, expansive and rewarding at every turn.
Scissortongue creates music that extends beyond the realms of reality into a strange, dreamlike, left field. It feels like an alternate reality in his head, fuelled by a heady mix of fantasy and reality, umbrella’d under a now customary gothic shroud.

His talent hasn’t wavered over the last decade, it’s only gotten better. He’s continued to make tracks whilst producing for most of the grime MCs we see today as well as running his club night, King Original, packed with heavyweights from the scene. Despite all this, Footsie remains incredibly humble, and his Newham ends are still home for him as he’s consistently upped his game in production and music, track after track. Footsie is also an accomplished producer, making beats for the likes of Big Narstie, D Double E, CAS, Dizzee Rascal & many more.
Footsie has collaborated with a who's who - in Grime including Giggs, Skepta and P Money.
In February 2017 FOXE released their double single Bubblegum (includes Frankie). Following from this the band also released one-take videos for each single, which accumulated 145k views between them. And here the story begins…
Their playful yet thoughtful blend of Alternative rock has was infectious and even pulled the ear of Libertine Gary Powell and his In 2017 GANA went to The Netherlands and created a whole new body of work. Their debut album was born in the secluded countryside called ‘Groede’ (roughly pronounced who-duh). It’s a refreshingly eclectic album. Written with an insatiable thirst for innovation, it oozes quirky lyrics, electrifying grooves and will leave you trying to pigeon hole it for days. They have just finished a successful string of European dates promoting the independent record and are looking forward to spreading the album far and wide this Summer Festival season!
"Intense and captivating... Innovative English Alternative Rock with a retro atmosphere... A group with unparalleled potential, there is no doubt they will go very far." - Alexia Stergiopulos (Addictive.Wearemc)
“London deserves a pat on the back for consistently breeding alternative rock like no place else. GANA are the latest band to emerge from the cauldron of talent” – Mina Kitsos (BestBefore)
“This is one of the most exciting emerging artists in London who are creating their own unique sound! Don’t miss bragging rights over your friends about seeing them first up close and personal.” – The Borderline London
“Don't miss the chance to see GANA live, it's an opportunity not to be missed!” – SeatWave “A scarily young looking band, that pack a punch as a riff heavy guitar band that you can’t help but bang your head to.” – DrewsMusic
His first release, Lend Me Your Skin, a collection of songs inspired by the early 90s guitar sound of Pixies and Nirvana was self-recorded in Falmouth and became the catalyst for his relocation. Exploring the emotional disconnect and emptiness of early adult life, the EP; particularly the debut single ‘ Anxious?’ gained a lot of traction, attracted new audiences and press plaudits.
Gillbanks continued to gain traction in 2016 with his London shows, becoming known for his noisy, dynamic live sound. Communion Records released ‘Childhood’ which was highly received and in turn helped secure shows at The Great Escape, Field Day, Glastonbury, and Citadel.
Since then, he’s worked tirelessly to establish himself as one of grime’s most unconventional and distinctive voices, appearing on tracks and sets with other up and coming MCs as well as going bar-for-bar with grime legends such as Ghetts, Jammer and Discarda.
Making the transition from pirate radio regular to stageshow don, Grim Sickers quickly became known for his electrifying live performances, lighting up stages across the country with his inimitable energy and enthusiasm.
Grim Sickers has also carved out a reputation for writing memorable hooks and rhyme sequences, peppered with pop culture references, a dark sense of humour and incredible detail. His biggest success so far has been “Kane”, the Swifta-Beater-produced single released on the label of Birmingham creative Despa Robinson and legendary The Streets frontman Mike Skinner. The track went on to be featured as KISS FM’s Track of the Week, as well as being spun heavily on Radio 1Xtra and more.
Whether it’s on air at 1Xtra, Rinse FM or Radar Radio, onstage at festivals, raves in the UK or as far-flung as the Czech Republic, you can expect to see plenty of Grim Sickers in the future, dressed head-to-toe in black with a mic in his hand, delivering bar after bar with the swagger and presence of a WWE superstar cutting the promo of his life.
London producer-songwriter Holy ’57 emerged in the summer of 2015 with the laid-back groove of Island Kids, produced in collaboration with former Broken Social Scene member Dave Newfeld. The song, which broke into the Hype Machine charts, paved the way for his first EP, H, released in October 2015. This was to be the first of four EP’s (H, O, L and Y) introducing the Holy ’57 repertoire. 2016 saw the release of O, and L arrived in the autumn of 2017. Lead single Water // Chrome was released in July, followed by Canary in September.
HAYES & Y
Having moved to the UK just a couple of years ago, the four-piece have assimilated quickly, becoming a part of their new country’s scene and taking shows at some of the Britain’s best-loved venues in their stride, including the likes of London’s Dublin Castle, and Manchester’s iconic Night & Day Cafe, as well as a notable slot on the Spirit of Burgas festival in Bulgaria supporting Kasabian. Their 2017 single “Always So Simple, Always So Cold” received strong support from BBC Introducing in Manchester and reached 13th spot in Spotify Top 50 UK Viral chart. In the autumn of 2018, Clash Magazine praised the band’s single “BLUE” calling it “an immediate, addictive track that also manages to retain its subtlety, a moody dancefloor burner with a killer chorus”. The band's 2019 single "safeplace." was featured on Spotify's "Fresh Finds" playlist and is followed by their latest track "Disaster".
Taking their cues from ‘80s electronica as much as they do from contemporary indie, Hayes & Y has successfully crafted an aesthetic that feels both timely and timeless.
Their latest release “Run Away” has had over 25,000 streams on Spotify as well as being played on national TV and radio. It’s also being played in Accessorize, Monsoon, Dunelm, Carphone Warehouse, Virgin Active, Butlins and more all around the UK.
Out of these MCs, the name Kamakaze has been spreading quickly. Bursting into our eye-line with some crazy freestyles across some of the biggest platforms, as well as some stand-out mixtapes, he’s steadily growing to be known as one of the most talented of the new era. We sat down with the Leicester born artist to find out
His performances inspired and influenced by grime artists such as Skepta, has evolved into more rap-oriented material.
Since then he has transitioned his hobby into a business and has improved greatly with the realism of his lyrics and the melodies of his flows.
Kojay is far from your typical rapper due to not only his ethnicity but also due to the unique sound that he demonstrates.
Showcasing his talent in various cities across the country such as London, Bedford and Luton, he has never failed to catch the eye and cause a scene.
“Year Of The Real to the world”
Litek has worked with artists from Conor Maynard, Rag & Bone Man and Azelia Banks to Tough Love. With releases on Warner, Sony/ Columbia, Armada Deep, This Ain’t Bristol, Simma Black and Get Twisted to name a few, he is not short of accolades. His most recent release on Warner UK, Atlanta, was met with critical acclaim and quickly became a club chart sensation.

With this volume of releases comes the freedom to plumb the depths of their imagination and satisfy the cravings of other styles while still maintaining their sound. Perhaps there is a darker side to indie pop? Maybe it could get cheesier. Perhaps culminate into a PR car crash? Or perhaps this is a stroke of genius.
Staggering, five pints deep, down the thin line that lies between pure insanity and genius is something that is not new to each member of Only Sun.
One thing is for sure; behind the self deprecating front and the quickly decomposing sense of humour, the boys are turning up the heat in the studio and are ready for another year of success.
ONE LAST DAYBREAK
In November 2018, they joined in with the Halloween spirit by releasing ‘My Home, My Gallows’ and ‘Jackson & Witcham’ in EP ‘The Midnight Society’ - the two songs taking influence and referencing Stephen King’s IT and Hannibal Lecter; quickly amassing a following on online media outlets such as Spotify.
Unafraid to be honest, the Emo Post-Hardcore quartet can be recognised by their energetic performances, raw and catchy melodies and emotional lyrics which cover topics such as depression, heartbreak, abuse and the hardships of life. The boys have recently returned from joining IMMERSE on tour, as well as playing the prolific club venue 'Facedown' in London. They can soon be seen in St. Albans and Ware this July.
"This band stumbled into Emo Nite not knowing what emo was and came out like 'Hey, we should start a band!" - The State of the Scene.
The Hackney based band are all songwriters in their own right and came together over their love of timeless pop when they first met in a local east London dive-bar :boom:
The group announced themselves with debut track 'Heartbeat' in 2016. Since then they have gained a reputation for classically crafted alt-pop songs and captivating live performances, with a string of shows across London’s best taste-maker venues.
Pace's emotive and melodic tunes have helped them built up a loyal fan-base on both sides of the Atlantic and receive support from the likes of Metro Artist Of The Day, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, Clash magazine and multiple Spotify playlists.

« Summer banger », « simply a breath of fresh air » « a triumph of minimalistic electronic pop » is how great names like Pharrell williams, The Line Of Bestfit, Billboard Magazine or Clash Magazine describe their music.
After having released between 2017 & 2018 a five track EP and a seven-tracks remixes EP, they are now working on a new album that will be released track by track every first friday of the month, starting on january 2019. This project reunites music, photography and storytelling. 12 characters. 12 hours. A Love Revolution.
Taet describes her love for music as ‘a vocation and a passion’. She believes it’s the one thing that never fails to bring people together no matter what they seem to be going through. Every emotion she has felt within her teens she’s managed to find comfort through music. Getting ready for a night out with the girls, heartbroken over a boy, there’s a song – ultimately music has become a collection of memories for her which she can revisit at any point in her life.
Although Taet is still young, she has had a wealth of music experience throughout the years. Working with such talented producers from Parker and James (Jessie J), Example, Nana Rogues (Drake) and Rymez (Stefflon Don). With some of the best in the game already witnessing her immense talent she has already set the bar quite high for what she has in store in terms of the new music she will be releasing.
Standing at six foot five, he was christened ‘too tawl’ in typical Tennessee twang. The name stuck like glue and upon his arrival home with this new title he began working on material for his debut EP. Mainly taking inspiration from artists like Bob Dylan, The Beatles and also older blues musicians such as Blind Willie McTell, Tootawl mixes this strong sense of musical tradition with his own unique folk style.
Since his time in Tennessee, Tootawl has supported Aslan in their sold out gig in Cork Opera House and Ham Sandwich at the Bandon Music Festival, and supported Bagatelle on their farewell tour to name a few. Tootawl recorded his debut EP with producer Christian Best (Mick Flannery, Jack O' Rourke) at Monique Studios which received widespread national radio airplay, and toured extensively (London, Berlin, San Francisco & LA). He also had the title track of his EP played in an episode of the Netflix original series 'You Me Her'.
Tootawl has just released his next EP, Twist Of Paranoia, which has already received national radio airplay in Ireland.
Forming his alias in June 2017 after a life change that birthed his new solo project; a separate personal and musical split in quick succession.
Having two grandparents who were music school teachers, Axel grew up listening to a range of tastes ranging from classical & rock to soul/jazz/world. Secondary school led to his hobbies revolving primarily around music: playing in bands since 12, learning computer software such as Cubase to getting his first set of decks at 16.
Whilst studying the BMus course at Kingston University, promoting for local club nights took up spare time when not in the studio.
Now based in Peckham, within just 6 months Von Marlon has run live & DJ nights at local venues such as The Montague Arms, Peckham Pelican, The Prince Of Peckham and The Nines as well as playing more well established London venues such as Club 229 and The Water Rats.
Having spent the last 18 months between Germany and England, his musical influences are moulded by both capital Cities. The name ‘Von Marlon’ derives from a Mike Skinner lyric - a nod toward growing up with UK urban and dance artists like The Streets, Wiley, Radiohead and Massive Attack to successful local contemporaries such as The XX, Mount Kimbie, James Blake and Sampha. This, partnered with his more recent discovery of Berlins electronic underground scene (e.g. Laing, Max Graef, DVS1 and Rin) helped mould the ideas for his first self-produced record.
Recent live and studio collaborations include artists such as Radio 1’s hotly tipped house duo Catchment (MTA Records), Albert Gold (Fierce Panda Records) and Jack Hawitt (Fine Management).
